BIBLE STUDY: What could be more important in the midst of our busy, complicated lives than being able to discern the voice of the Almighty? Priscilla Shirer is on target as she inspires us all to listen so we can be blessed. This upcoming study"Discerning the Voice of God" will help equip us with a better awareness of God's eternal word and the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit. God clearly wants a relationship with us and one of the clearest promises we have is found in John 10:27, "My sheep hear my voice: I know them, and they follow me."

God clearly wants our relationship with Him to be intimate and interactive, so join this personal women's Bible study. The sessions will be two hours each week, meeting in the PTF cottage on Tuesdays from 1-3. We will start on Jan. 31st, and the lovely Stephanie McDermott will be our facilitator.

We aim to send two GIGANTIC boxes this month: One focusing on kids (6 & under, and older kids, too), and one to a street ministry. Please bring your donations to the PTF cottage, and please sort them accordingly!! We ask that you bring items that are CLEAN and in in GOOD condition! Please turn in items no later than Nov. 21.

Each year the PTF has had the pleasure of transforming the PTF Cottage into a cheerful Christmas Cottage. This event has always been a community favourite!

Some families may have purchased items to donate to this event during the summer break or during their travels throughout the region. If you have purchased any items for the Christmas Fair this year, please bring them to the cottage or main office clearly marked "CHRISTMAS FAIR DONATION."

Urgent Call for Bakers!!

THE BAKE SALE NEEDS YOU!!: We are so grateful for all the moms and dads who faithfully bake and buy goodies for each Bake Sale that occurs on the first Tuesday of each month. Two Bake Sales have come and gone and we realize that with the increased enrolment we do run short of goodies much to the disappointment of our students.

So parents, we will be very grateful if you could help us by baking or buying goods for our coming Bake Sales. The next one is

1st November 2011.

Cookies, brownies, muffins, cupcakes, small buns, and Korean treats are hugely popular. It would be good if you could supply 2 dozen individually wrapped items and highlight the ingredients to us to enable us to cater to students with food allergies.

We have been blessed recently with premixes for baking chocolate cookies, brownies and blueberry muffins, and these are available if you wish to take some home and whip up a batch for the next sale! However, PLEASE inform ANNE TAN, the coordinator, if you are using these, so that we can ascertain the amounts of the 3 items!

This DVD study is highly recommended by Anne Boudville (please read below from her) and she is coordinating our time together. It will be low key, just DVD and informal discussion after.

Caring God’s Way

Caring God’s Way is a six part dvd series produced in the UK by CWR. Some of you may be familiar with using the devotional guide of the late Selwyn Hughes, ‘Every day with Jesus’. If so, you would know how Selwyn always bore theology to life, ‘…and the Word became flesh…’This six part series attempts to encapsulate intelligently and succinctly what a caring community ought to look like.

It briefly chronicles the lives of four people at four different life stages who share their pain and grief. It enlightens us briefly on human psychology, what makes people ‘tick’, how we should phrase our words so that it encourages people to share, etc. It gives an excellent theological overview on a God of the Ages who has always cared for His people, only here, it studies this aspect of His caring nature with detail. It studies C.S.Lewis’ book, ‘The Screwtape Letters’ Come, watch, listen and let’s discuss together.

On a personal note, Selwyn was my lecturer in the UK and some of the team members who put this dvd together were people I interacted with extensively whist training there. As iron sharpens iron, so my life was transformed there. The loving and caring community of CWR was for me a foretaste of heaven.

Bake Sale !!!Tuesday, November 2, 201010am at ICS Grounds

Goodies are on sale @ ~10am and between periods for all students at 50 cents each (limit 2). We need bakers who can share their magnificent skills in making cookies, brownies, cupcakes, banana bread and other yummy concoctions! Savory snacks like kimbop, dumplings or sushi as well as purchased treats are welcome too if you cannot make them yourselves. :)

Guidelines:

Provide 2 dozen separately wrapped pieces of treats (if small, then 2 per serving, which would be 48 pieces)
Write a note with the name of your snack and any allergic precautions if any (e.g.: has nuts) We also appreciate anyone who can provide a no sugar-no dairy option for the kids
Send the treats with your child or bring them to the PTF Cottage or ICS front office before 9:30a.m.

As this is a much-awaited monthly fundraising event, we need volunteers who can help with the setting-up, selling, collecting & counting of money. Meeting place is at the PTF Cottage from 8am onwards.
